How often do you train?
We train nearly every Sunday during the school terms.

When do you train?
We have 3 sessions for different training groups which fits into the window from 3:00pm to 7:30pm. For specific training time groups go to the Services page,

How do I register
When the registration window is open a link will display on the Home Page and the News and Notices page that will take you to a registration form to complete. For the registration window dates refer to the Club Calendar.

How much is payment for registration
It is $30 per term and $15 for every other subsequent immediate family member i.e., brother, sister.

How do I make payment to the club
The bank account to pay for registration is as follows:
Bank A/C No. - 12-3254-0164164-00
Bank A/C Name - Porirua Heat Basketball Club Inc
Please include the Surname then the First Name initial of your child in the reference. This will help us identify who the payment is for.

How old do you have to be to train
We start from Age 5 (Year 1) with no upper age limit

Do we enter any leagues or tournaments?
Yes we do look to enter teams in both leagues and tournaments. Check the Club Calendar, News and Notices as well as the Facebook page for specific updates.

Do you sell apparel from the club
We sell training singlets at the training sessions and you can either pay by cash or internet banking (email screenshot to porirua.heat.basketball.club@gmail.com) but only for registered and paid club members. We will be standing up an Online Store front soon for club members and family to purchase club apparel. See the Apparel page for samples.

Do you run your sessions during the holidays?
No we do not, as club members families may go away, and this also provides a breather for our club coaches and administration team to refresh for the next term. Our club coaches and administration team volunteer their time and are not paid for their services.

My child is not sure if they want to join, do we have to pay first?
We suggest that they come and trial or observe 1 training session in their age group and if they decide they would like to join, then you can query with the administration desk at the trainings if you can register your child which will be dependent on the numbers for the session group.

Do we have to stay while our child trains?
In managing large number of children in our training sessions, we implement measures to ensure the safety of the children as much as possible. Whilst we do not mandate that you stay, it is ultimately the caregiver's responsibility for the care and safety of their child attending, particularly in the younger age groups.
